Requirements to join the Slcpd explorer team

Applicants for the position of Police Explorer must be students who have completed the 8th grade that are between the ages of 14 to 21. 

Applicants must have a grade point average of "C" or higher to be eligible. Explorers must maintain a "C" grade point average during participation in the program. Explorers are required to enroll in college courses after the completion of high school to participate in this program.

Applicants are subject to a criminal background investigation during selection. Applicants cannot have any serious criminal history to be eligible. (misdemeanor and felony arrest or convictions.
